The Comb Lodge

The Comb Lodge is available to hire for your group’s exclusive use. With ten spacious en-suite bedrooms, it has room for up to twenty guests.

You will have an entire bar and lounge to yourselves, a dining room big enough for a banquet, a TV room with sofas, and a large fully-equipped country kitchen including two dishwashers.

The hire gives you exclusive use of the main building and its immediate grounds, with access to the entire Reivers estate. Hire of the barn can be arranged for larger parties or events as required.

Every bedroom has views over your private estate with six having French Doors or a balcony. 

Please note we cannot accept bookings for individual rooms.

The Comb Farmhouse

The Comb Farmhouse is a three bedroom traditional stone farmhouse on The Comb Reivers Estate. Ideal for a holiday in the stunning Tarset valley under dark skies in a true Northumberland wildernesses. 

The farmhouse sleeps up to 6 (8 if necessary) with a stunning open plan living, dining and kitchen area with views southward down the natural amphitheatre  of Tarset Valley and Kielder Forest.

If you are booking The Comb Lodge for an event or wedding The Comb Farmhouse offers separate but accessible additional accommodation for your guests.

The Comb

is a horseshoe-shaped traditional stone building that encloses a large courtyard.

The East Wing

contains the bar, lounge, TV room and kitchen as well as three of the bedrooms. It also has a cosy snug with a log-burning stove.

The West Wing

houses the other bedrooms, including the Sidwood master suite, with perhaps the best views of all.

The two wings are connected by a large and attractive dining room which can seat your entire group with ease.

The Rooms

The bedrooms at the Comb are arranged over two floors. They are all en-suite, with exposed beams and wooden floors that give them a homely but comfortable feel.

Overall there are two single rooms, four doubles with king size beds, and four twin rooms.

One of the doubles on the ground floor has an internal staircase that leads up to a mezzanine floor, housing two further single beds. This makes it an ideal family room. It also has a wet-room with wheelchair access. The other spacious double room (complete with balcony) also has wheelchair access. Two of the double room en-suites have large bathtubs as well as showers.

All of the double rooms have room for a child’s cot or bed, as do two of the twin rooms.

Facilities

The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, including a range, two dishwashers, fridge freezer, microwave, big kitchen table and walk-in larder. We also supply an iron, ironing board, and hairdryers for our guests to use.

A washing machine and tumble dryer are available to guests staying for over three days. They can be found in the outhouse.

The bar has its own fridge for storing drinks. The TV room has a selection of board games.

There is plentiful private parking for 20 guests and it is free.

TV, WiFi and phone signal

The wifi and television signal are supplied by satellite. Limited bandwidth means that streaming and software downloads aren’t possible.

There is no mobile phone signal at Reivers, but calls can be made using wifi FaceTime or WhatsApp.

Pets

Dogs are allowed in limited numbers (please advise us in advance). We ask that they stay off the furniture and out of the bedrooms. Please clean up after them in the grounds.
